Welcome to my website!

All homemade Component cable for the Wii without touching the original. Time 1Hr and easy if you have the parts

Lets get started!

Tools

  • Pair of needle nose pliers

  • Soldering iron & Solder

  • Scissors

  • Razor

  • Glue Gun or Epoxy or shrink tube

Material

  •  Some old Component cables any will do (will need 3 leads for video or 5 for   video/audio).

  •  A 1/8 stereo jack ( I used this because i got PC speakers).

  • Notebook HDD adaptor (I took mine of a older broken 1500c Compaq) I saw one awhile  go but. don't remember where. ITS NOT A 2.5>>>3.5 adaptor.

  • Thin wire (mine came from the donor notebook speaker wire.

  • Last you'll need metal leads ( used the clippings from some old LEDs).

Step one, cut the HDD adaptor so that it fits into the AV port of the Wii. trim it down just until it fits snugly and make sure the pins line up on both the Wii output and and the adaptor.

This is the cut version ( each adaptor is enough for 2)

Step2, get the wire and leads ready to plug in. Make them as log as you want( wire), but careful with the lead because if its to long it will damage the adaptor (pop through). Mine were about 5mm long with only 4mm going into the adaptor. Bend one lead to use for  shorting 8 & 10. TIP solder first then cut to length.

Step3, once your done cutting, its time to plug in the leads into the adaptor as the chart below shows

I got the chart from www.tdficq.com and they have lots of additional information if you needed it.

Step4, Connect the leads DO the video first, make sure that the orientation is correct. Then attach 3 additional to slots 1,2,4or5 for audio.

(Left side is top)

Step5, solder the wires to the hacked component cables (I used audio rca cable) and then test it out. you might have to switch cables if you get anything mixed up. If you get a blue or green or red tint you either shorted some wires or have an incorrect connection. For audio I used a 1/8 jack so that i can hook it up to my pc speakers. You can as easily hook up another 2 rca cable for audio.

Last Step, Use epoxy or hot glue to hold everything together. If you don't its not going to last long...
ENJOY
